Mariana Vidal-Escabi

Mariana Vidal-Escabi is a designer, artist and educator based in NYC. Her creative practice is rooted in pluriculturalism, community, and co-creation. More specifically, her interests lie in heritage through tradition and in the decontextualizing and re-contextualization of visual languages to find new narratives through fashion, textiles, drawing, printmaking, and artist’s books. She is open to the possibilities of intersecting art and design while cultivating experimentation, inclusion, and collaboration.

She is the founder of A W I N D O W, a NYC based creative studio that aims at finding new and unique ways of creating, presenting and consuming design, fashion and art. Her work is part of the MoMa Library collection and the San Francisco MoMa Library collection. Mariana has an MFA with honors in Fashion Design and Fashion Textile Print Design from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. Her work experience has expanded from Fashion, Print Textile Design to Concept and Color Design working with renowned designers Zero+Maria Cornejo and Diane von Furstenberg and brands like Banana Republic and Coach.

She is currently Assistant Professor of Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design.
