Jas Brooks
Jas Brooks, PhD (they/them), is an incoming Assistant Professor at MIT EECS, and a designer and media archaeologist whose research bridges historical scent technologies with contemporary sensory interfaces. Their independent work focuses on preserving and reactivating olfactory media (from early 20th-century scented cinema to dot-com era scent tech) through archival study and interactive exhibition design. Jas’s contributions have been recognized with the 2024 Art and Olfaction Award in the Experimental Category and as a finalist for the 2022 Award.
