Jordan Robin: Idem Ink

$500.00

odorous molecules | 50mL | Edition of 1

this is a piece of olfactory art not intended to be worn

artist statement:

A friend introduced me to Oakmoss in its sticky, resinous form. Pure and undistilled, it was spellbinding - completely unlike the oakmoss of overwhelming fougeres, and men with combovers. I was fixated on learning everything I could about this controversial material. Discovering its mysteries, its forbidden flaws, and its most magnetic sources.

Idem (of my fragrance brand TOTC), explores how to wear oakmoss without stripping it of its raw power. Idem is an infusion focused on the undistilled oakmoss, enhancing it with frankincense essential oil and geranium absolute. My latest undertaking is Idem Ink: the first effort toward creating an Absolute by making highly concentrated alcohol dilutions from our proprietary oil blends. Idem oil perfume is transformed into a dark, ink-like liquid. In its current form, Idem Ink is a physical representation of the concept to reclaim what an Absolute can be. Idem Ink is absolute minimalism.
