The Monkey & The Banana

$10,000.00

Laudamiel created The Monkey & The Banana to show that humor and cartoon situations can also be transmitted through scents. No actual bananas or any monkey extracts are used here. Similar to set designers in the theater, perfumers can recreate all kinds of atmosphere from alternatives, relying on their creative talent. Scent design should actually be taught in art and architectural schools. (The Monkey & The Banana was shown at Laudamiel’s Phantosmia exhibition at Dillon + Lee Gallery in NYC)

Twist: Banana suffers in the commercial fragrance industry from the misconception that its smell imparts vulgar characteristics. Although the scent has universal appeal, perfumers are discouraged from using it bluntly.

PERFUMER: Christophe Laudamiel

RECORDING STUDIO: DSM-Firmenich

DESCRIPTORS: Banana, Hairy, Musky

25 ingredients

4gm of pure oil from 12/13/2012
